NameFix

Workflow

  1. On the website, select a folder to generate a preview. In the desktop app, you can also drag or paste a local path.
  2. NameFix analyzes the folder and shows a preview.
  3. Review the proposed names and uncheck anything you do not want to process.
  4. Download the desktop application to apply changes to your local files.

Main rules

  • The extension is not modified by the rules and is always kept lowercase.
  • Internal dots in the name are converted to hyphens.
  • Spaces can be converted to underscores, hyphens, or TitleCase format.
  • Number padding can be automatic or manual.
  • 8-digit dates are preserved to avoid changing date patterns.
  • Versions such as v1 or V1 keep the original v/V when attached to a number.

Security

The public website only analyzes and shows a preview. The desktop application renames files locally without uploading materials.

Licenses

The license allows NameFix to be active on as many computers as stated in the license agreement. By default, each license includes 2 maximum installations, and additional installations can be purchased.
